Spa foods are all about simple recipes where fresh flavors and healthful local ingredients play a staring role. In the world of spa-cuisine "you are what you eat" is taken rather seriously. Foods are eaten to promote inner-health and outer-beauty. It's the kind of dining experience that leaves you feeling refreshed and even rejuvenated... almost as if you had just experienced a day at the spa!

Antioxidants


Camille's: Antioxidants

That's right, it's as simple as that. Tonight we will prepare a variety of dishes where antioxidant-rich ingredients will take on a star role. Antioxidants are chemicals found in a variety of foods. These chemicals are said to reduce oxidative damage to human cells. So, by the end of the evening we'll be on our way to superior-health and youthful looks!

Antioxidant Rich Foods (in no particular order): Berries, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Red Grapes, Garlic, Dark L leafy Greens, Green & Black Tea, Carrots, Soy, Whole Grains, Legumes, Artichoke, Russet Potato, Molasses, Onion, Mango, Papaya, Sweet Potatoes, Seafood & FIsh, Peppers, Avocado, Nuts, Red Wine, Rosemary, Seaweed, Tumeric, Cinnamon, Oregano.

Brenda's: Sumptuous Squash Winter Harvest

Did you know that squash is native to the Americas? It is thought to be the first food cultivated by Native American Indians, squash, along with beans and corn, is part of the Indian triad of the three most important food staples. Who knew?

Over the years many have revered squash for it's healthful and nutritious qualities. Today this most interesting vegetable is known primarily for it's status as a comfort food and for it's great versatility in the kitchen. Not many vegetables are great cooked savory or sweet, roasted or grilled, baked into bread or even a dessert. Squash truly is a magnificent vegetable, and so on the 28th the plan is to celebrate all things squash~ yummy!
